PUBLIC NOTICE - ROAD CLOSURE

TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND
DETOUR OF STATE HIGHWAY 65
FOR CITY OF RIVER FALLS
MUNICIPAL UTILITY WORK

The City of River Falls Municipal Utility, with approval from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, will be closing Wisconsin Highway 65 on the South side of the city beginning October 19th, 2009 to allow the City Municipal Utility to extend municipal water and sanitary sewer facilities under the highway. The highway will be closed South from the intersection with Wisconsin Highway 29.

Motorists will be detoured around Wisconsin Highway 65 using Wisconsin Highway 29 and US Highway 63 to Ellsworth. This detour is intended for long haul traffic coming from or south of Ellsworth. Local traffic, including those that live south of River Falls along or near Wisconsin Highway 65, should take local roads around the road closure. It is anticipated that the detour will be in effect for five (5) days while the city municipal utility performs the work.

In case of inclement weather, the closure and detour will be postponed until October 26th, 2009.
