Leading By Example Initiative

The demand for energy continues to grow in Wisconsin and our nation. To protect our environment and quality of life, energy efficiency and environmental stewardship must receive increasing importance. A confluence of events in River Falls offers a unique opportunity to showcase the outstanding efforts of its community leaders and residents.

We are excited to announce that the City of River Falls City Council and Utility Commission recently approved the support of a Leading By Example Initiative as presented by our public power supplier, Wisconsin Public Power Inc (WPPI). This initiative will be a community-wide effort to install a strong local conservation ethic while demonstrating the effectiveness of energy efficiency, conservation and renewable resource development.

A leadership advisory committee comprised of local elected/appointed officials, educators, business leaders, environmental group members and citizens is in the process of being formed. It is anticipated that this volunteer group will provide leadership in motivating the community to work together on this community-wide initiative.
