Due to dry weather conditions and resulting stress on the water system, we are requesting an IMMEDIATE CITY-WIDE BAN ON ALL NON-NECESSARY WATER USAGE. Please eliminate all unnecessary water use in homes and businesses, including lawn watering, sprinkling, irrigation etc. until drought conditions cease. We will provide notice when the watering ban is lifted. On August 10, 2007, Mayor Richards issued an Emergency Order Watering Ban Within City Limits. We are concerned about fluctuations in the aquifer that have caused one well to be shut down and are threatening another well. While our water levels are currently sufficient to meet normal usage, we do not want to take a risk of having non-essential water use threatening the production of the other wells. |
