Shelters

Glen Park, Hoffman Park, and DeSanctis Park have shelter buildings that can be reserved online at riverfalls.activityreg.com beginning at 9 a.m. on the first Monday of each year for the current calendar year.  If you need assistance, in-person reservations open the first Wednesday of each year. Reservations for January and February open online on the first Monday of each November. 

Making a tentative reservation will hold your spot and you will receive an email and receipt when approved.

A fee and/or damage charge will be invoiced if damage or breakage occurs, or if the shelter is not left in a clean and rentable condition. You are responsible for fully cleaning up the event room, removing the trash/recycling, and replacing the trash bags for the next group.

Only blue painter’s tape may be used to adhere decorations to shelter walls. Nails, staples, tacks and the like are prohibited. No candles, glitter or confetti. Renters and their guests must follow all park rules.

Open-air shelters are only available April through October. Glover Station schoolhouse is only available May through September.

If there are no reservations, the open-air shelters are available for free on a first come, first served basis. A reservation calendar is hung at each shelter.

Cancellations/Switches/Refunds

To cancel or switch a reservation, please email or call the recreation office. Cancellations or switches must be made at least two weeks prior to the reservation date. (If within two weeks your entire fee is forfeited.) The cancellation fee is $10 for an open-air shelter or $40 for enclosed shelter. The remaining balance will be refunded to your card. Please note we are only able to return funds to your card up to six months after the purchase date; after that time the refund will be made by check.

Residency

A City Resident is any person who lives within the corporate city limits of River Falls and pays property taxes to the City. (Non-residents such as those that live in townships do not pay property taxes to the City to help fund parks and shelters.)

Severe Weather Emergency

In case of severe weather emergency, the general public must be allowed to enter a storm shelter even when it is reserved by a private party.

Alcohol Policies

Alcohol is allowed in Glen Park, Hoffman Park and DeSanctis Park. If your gathering is having a keg or another large container of alcohol, please complete a keg form and return it to the Parks and Recreation Department at least a week before your event. A $50 deposit will be required. Glassware is prohibited.

Softball Fields & Courts

Most fields and courts can be reserved for a fee. If there are no reservations, they are available on a first come, first served basis. Fields and courts may be reserved online at riverfalls.activityreg.com beginning the first Monday of each March at 9 a.m.
